About The Position

The Peer Mentor supports and assists the Clinical Lead and Clinical Coordinator in all aspects of client services.

Requirements

  • Must meet Arizona Department of Health Services personnel member requirements of: at least 21 years old; or licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member's scope of practice.
  • Must be in recovery equal to or greater than 6 months, required.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/Narcan training.
  • Current and annual negative TB Test.
  • Current and valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Successfully pass a background check and an Arizona Department of Health Services Adult Protective Services check.
  • A working knowledge of addiction, recovery, and twelve step programs.
  • Must be proficient with computer, Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with internal and external audiences.
  • Must maintain high ethical standards and demonstrate sound judgment, problem solving skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Minimum of High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Peer Recovery Support Specialist certification from an Arizona approved agency or obtained within 90 days of hire, required.
  • Valid AZ Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check performed annually and upon hire, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of Clinical Lead and Clinical Coordinator duties including, but not limited to intake, orientation, client file creation, and maintenance.
  • Facilitate Right Track Program curriculum; group capacity determined by site census and manager.
  • Maintain caseload accuracy as determined by manager.
  • Make copies, collates, staples, and files program materials as needed.
  • Provides individual case management to include crisis management as required.
  • Facilitates coordination of care to include case review, weekly progress updates in treatment and coordination of aftercare services.
  • Participates in clinical staff meetings, trainings and other activities as required.
  • Discuss issues regarding program requirements and/or conflicts with clients.
  • Assist clients in completing applications for government assistance, probation/court obligations, and referrals to independent agencies.
  • Performs other duties, as required.
