Peer Health Educators support the growth, education, and development of students, faculty, and staff, with a special focus on health and wellness. Peer Health Educators are an essential part of promoting health, wellness, and culture change in the University of Portland campus community. The position will work on topics such as mental health, eating disorders, drug and alcohol use, nutrition, exercise, sleep, coping skills, resiliency, violence prevention, and more. Reporting directly to the Wellness Promotion Coordinator, this position also works to bridge the gap between students and Wellness Promotion, gathering student feedback and responding to campus needs. Student will work an average of 5 hours per week and will be paid Portland Metro Minimum Wage. Upon positive evaluation by supervisor and Wellness Center staff, the employee may be hired on for another academic year.
