Respond to off-site locations where there are community complaints regarding client behavior in the surrounding neighborhood. Engage clients in the field and work to de-escalate potential situations using methods that are sensitive to clients with mental health and trauma diagnosis. Work with and educate clients on the Good Neighbor Policy to reinforce good habits and behaviors within the community of the shelter. Independently engage local businesses/community stakeholders to check-in about and address issues within the community. In collaboration with the case managers, work with clients to break through barriers to client goals and to assist clients in advocating for themselves and in moving toward self-sufficiency. Document client and community engagement interactions. Attend staff/internal/outside agency meetings as requested.
