About The Position

ATI is currently seeking a Peel Polish operator in our Finishing department at
the Monroe, NC facility. This position is a critical part of our process as the
operator will be running the equipment that processes the round bar material to
the customer’s required diameter, out-of-round specifications, as well as
surface finish specifications.

As a peel polish operator, you will be working from written and/or verbal
instructions to set up and operate the peeler. A successful operator should show
attention to detail, be quality-oriented, and have good communication skills.

Requirements

• Must have working knowledge of decimals, fractions, and related mathematics as required to use precision measuring and set-up equipment such as gauges, and micrometers, that are necessary for the setup and operations of the machine
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read a caliper and tape measure
• Ability to read and follow written procedures

Nice To Haves

• At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Control and adjust tools, through speeds, and other machine parameters to maintain specified precision tolerances, surface finish and identities.
• Detect and report unusual or improper operations. Refer questionable matters to proper supervision
• Keep work area and machine clean
• Use hand tool such as micrometers, tape measures, and other types of measuring instruments.
• Set up equipment based on the size of material
