Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Pediatric Surgeon to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Join our team of 3 surgeons and 2 Advanced Practice Practitioners who provide a wide range of surgical care to our pediatric patients including abdominal, thoracic, minimally invasive, cancer care, soft tissue, neonatal and congenital cases. We welcome an experienced BC practitioner or a new BC/BE graduate. Vital program in an established and growing dynamic fully integrated non-profit healthcare system 24x7 hospitalist services for each NICU, PICU and pediatric units for 116 beds combined Thriving multispecialty clinic setting provides pediatric cardiology, endocrinology, ENT, GI, Nephrology, Neurology, Surgery, Behavioral Medicine, Pulmonology, Hematology/Oncology, and Chronic Care. Radiology, Anesthesiology and Pathology are also on site on the hospital campus. Systemwide EPIC electronic medical record system with dedicated onsite support Pediatric urgent care services staffed with pediatricians and pediatric nurses. Dedicated to family-centered Care, the Children’s Center at Presbyterian encompasses both inpatient and outpatient services for specialty pediatric care. Our dedicated pediatric intensive care, pediatric inpatient unit, NICU and thriving multispecialty clinic are all co-located at our flagship campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and is accountable for the overall quality of care and clinical outcomes of pediatric surgical patients. This care will be delivered by interdisciplinary team members to assure high quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Manages the physician/patient relationship, working to assure patient and family satisfaction with care.
  • Participate in system-wide health management initiatives.
  • Provide input into the practice site's financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of clinical and service standards.
  • Receive and resolve patient complaints.
  • Participate in the recruitment and replacement of other providers.
  • Consults with and advises other providers regarding optimal and cost-effective treatment of pediatric surgery patients.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in services, and workshops.
  • Works to assure patient satisfaction with care.
  • Participates in team and multispecialty group meetings.
  • Provides input into the practice site's financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.
  • Oversees and is accountable for the overall quality of care and clinical outcomes within the assigned facilities.
  • Maintain coding and encounter data standards for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and reimbursement level, including legible documentation.
  • Assists in leading the Advanced Practice Clinicians in delivering appropriate patient education/care
  • Performs other functions as required.
