About The Position

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University School of Medicine are actively seeking a sleep medicine physician to join our Division of Pulmonology Medicine. The successful candidate will be a key member of our growing team of 28 pulmonologists, including eight who practice sleep medicine, 16 advanced practice practitioners, including two who practice sleep medicine, and 14 PhDs. The pulmonology team includes research faculty with a broad range of expertise, but with a strong focus on cystic fibrosis, asthma and other airway diseases. Staff members also have expertise in treating medically complex children from birth through 21 years of age, including those with craniofacial abnormalities and genetic syndromes. We have a busy and diverse clinical service with experienced faculty who specialize in pulmonary hypertension, aerodigestive disorders, sleep medicine, pulmonary sickle cell disease, technology-dependent children, severe asthma and cystic fibrosis. The sleep medicine physician will have the following responsibilities along with additional duties as assigned: The position will offer the opportunity to teach residents and mentor graduating fellows. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited, four-year medical school.
  • Graduate of an accredited, post graduate residency program In Pediatrics or Med/Peds.
  • Graduate of an accredited, post graduate fellowship training In Sleep Medicine.
  • Board certified or eligible in Sleep Medicine.
  • Licensed in the state of Georgia, current DEA registration, BLS and PALS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete physical assessments.
  • Conduct sleep studies.
  • Order medications and medical devices as needed.
  • Perform and order tests in a timely manner.
  • Participate with all quality improvements and assurance initiatives.
  • Use and endorse the use of all the practice's automated systems as needed.
  • Conduct appropriate follow-up to ensure appropriate levels of care.
  • Ensure all preventative medicine testing is conducted on a routine basis.
