About The Position

Job Title: Physician – Sleep Medicine Location: Evans Army Hospital at Fort Carson, 1650 Cochrane Cir, CO, 80913 Tentative Start Date: December 1, 2025 Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts between 0700–1700, excluding federal holidays Qualifications: Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree. Experience: Minimum of 12 months within the last 36 months of current, independent clinical experience in sleep medicine. Must demonstrate competency to work independently in a sleep medicine practice. License/Certification: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. jurisdiction. Board eligible or board certified in Sleep Medicine (ABMS or AOA recognized). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Other Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Strong background in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders including apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, and parasomnias. Documents Required for Submission: Updated Resume (With all gaps explained) Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. jurisdiction Board eligible or board certified in Sleep Medicine (ABMS or AOA recognized) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with sleep disorders.
  • Interpret and review polysomnographic studies and other sleep-related diagnostic tests.
  • Develop, document, and manage individualized treatment plans for patients with chronic and acute sleep conditions.
  • Prescribe and monitor therapies such as CPAP/PAP devices, medications, and behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborate with polysomnographic technicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate testing and continuity of care.
  • Educate patients and families in sleep hygiene, treatment compliance, and disorder management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (GENESIS).
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with DHA, DoD, and professional medical standards.
  • Provide consultative expertise to other departments regarding sleep medicine cases.
