Job Summary Responsible for conducting and interpreting pediatric sleep studies using polysomnography techniques through working closely with pediatric patients and their families to monitor sleep patterns, diagnose sleep disorders, and contribute to the development of effective treatment plans. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
  • RPSGT or board eligible - required
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - required
  • Polysomnography Experience 1-2 years required
  • In-depth knowledge of pediatric sleep disorders, normal sleep patterns in children, and relevant diagnostic criteria.
  • Strong understanding of polysomnography equipment, data acquisition, and analysis techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pediatric patients, their families, and healthcare colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex physiological data accurately.
  • Compassion, patience, and the ability to create a comfortable environment for pediatric patients during sleep studies.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and prepare pediatric patients for overnight sleep studies, ensuring proper placement of electrodes and sensors for monitoring.
  • Monitor patients during sleep studies to ensure data accuracy and patient safety.
  • Perform data acquisition during sleep studies, including monitoring EEG, EKG, respiration, oxygen saturation, limb movements, and other relevant physiological parameters.
  • Evaluate polysomnography data to diagnose pediatric sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, parasomnias, and restless legs syndrome.
  • Communicate with pediatric patients and their families to explain the sleep study procedure, answer questions, and alleviate concerns.
  • Ensure proper functioning of polysomnography equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of patient information, sleep study procedures, and diagnostic results.
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, pulmonologists, neurologists, and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient cases and formulate comprehensive treatment plans.
