About The Position

Encompass's ESIT (Early Support for Infants and Toddlers) Team is seeking a Physical Therapist to work with children from birth to three years old and their families. The mission is to partner with families to build healthy foundations and foster a community where all children thrive, focusing on holistic, wrap-around care to meet the critical individual needs of developing children and support their families. The team provides transdisciplinary care, encouraging connection and relationship-building. The ESIT Physical Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing developmental supports in collaboration with the early supports team and families to promote functional development and meaningful participation in daily living and community activities. This role involves working with families in the child’s natural environment, such as home, childcare, or other community-based settings, utilizing a parent coaching model. Encompass is a private nonprofit that has served the Snoqualmie Valley and Issaquah communities for over 50 years, offering high-quality, leading-edge early childhood educational and therapeutic services to all children.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with valid Washington State Licensure
  • Pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check if not in state for more than the past 3 years
  • Infant and child CPR, first aid, and bloodborne pathogens training within 90 days of hire
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and vehicle insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Early Intervention experience
  • At least one year of pediatric experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Develop ongoing individualized goals and progress reports
  • Complete written daily treatment notes, evaluation reports, and billing in a timely manner
  • Review medical reports, make medical referrals, seek consultation as necessary, and maintain accurate records of contact for each child
  • Monitor and track caseload requirements with on-going new referrals
  • Actively participate in staff development, training opportunities, team meetings, and transdisciplinary coaching
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility, while working cooperatively with supervisors, other employees, and families
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Provide culturally relevant, family-guided, routine-based developmental supports using a parent coaching model
  • As part of an evaluation team, evaluate children across domain areas to determine program eligibility
  • Understand and provide guidance on the importance of healthy caregiver-child attachment in child development
  • Partner with caregivers in decision making during Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) development, home visits, and transitions
  • Connect with team members on a weekly basis and participate in transdisciplinary coaching and consultation as needed
  • In cooperation with the Family Resource Coordinator, support with transitions into appropriate school, community, or Encompass programs, support groups, and other services
  • Supervise interns as needed
