Kay 4 supports patients with hematology disorders or leukemia and lymphoma disease at St. Jude. Be a part of caring for patients in the most current protocol enrollments that will revolutionize treatment for hematology and leukemia/lymphoma disease. Kay 4 is a 17-bed unit that offers small nurse to patient ratios. Come join a prestigious nursing team who provides the highest quality of care, every day! Full Time Weekend nurse position 3 (12-hour shifts) with rotating weekday and holiday requirement
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), required.
- BSN required with completion of 18 months of clinical nursing experience.
- St. Jude or other RN experience required.
- Intermediate pediatric assessment, critical thinking, and pain assessment skills.
- Some experience in pediatric or oncology nursing.
- Working knowledge of research protocols.
- Strong knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on the assigned unit.
- Strong knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all ages served.
- Strong ability to assess and interpret age specific data about the patient’s status.
- Strong clinical nursing, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Proven performance in earlier role.
- (LC: RN-TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state.
- (LC: RN-ARK or RN-MISS) Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), OR Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS, preferred as applicable.
- Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON) preferred.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
