Our unit consists of an active 24 bed unit with diverse patient populations, with a focus on a family centered care model with an interdisciplinary team approach. Our care team includes Pediatric hematologist/Oncologists, Pediatric Hospitalists, Pediatric Surgeons, Nutritionists, Case Management, Social Services, PT/OT, Pharmacists, and Child-Life Specialists. We are a member and active participant in the Children’s Oncology Group. As a Registered Nurse in our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Pediatric Surgery department, you will have the opportunity to care for pediatric patients spanning from neonate to adult with a diverse range childhood cancer and blood disorders, as well as patients receiving care from our surgical specialties including orthopedics, urology, plastics, maxillofacial, neurosurgical, otolaryngology, and pediatric general surgery. POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
