Enteral Feeding Program is a boutique program designed to meet the needs of our patients with any type of feeding tube. There are many opportunities to form close relationships with families, as we follow many of these patients for the entire time they have their tube in place. For nurses interested in honing their tactile skills, this is a great fit, as this role offers many opportunities to perform tube-related cares including, but not limited to primary G-tube changes, bridle placement, GJ to G-tube conversions, and more. A nurse acting in this role, will have the opportunity to rotate across the hospital and ambulatory setting, keeping the role interesting and engaging. Hours and Location: 20 hours per week (.5). This role is salaried and the individual will rotate roles between hospital, clinic and resource responsibilities with fellow nurse clinicians on the enteral feeding team. What you will do: The Enteral Feeding Program (EFP) Nurse functions with demonstrated expertise in the delivery of direct nursing care to children and their families in both the ambulatory and hospital departments. With advanced knowledge and skill, the EFP Nurse provides nursing care to children within a defined patient population of patients with durable or temporary enteral feeding devices, and nasal bridles. As a recognized resource for consultation, advocacy, education, and support, the EFP Nurse assists in maintaining a quality standard of nursing care for patients with enteral feeding devices and securement methods.
