Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Valid Michigan Registered Nurse License
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification (AANP)
  • Pediatric Nurse Certification Board (PNCB)
  • 2–3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care
  • Familiarity with EMR systems
  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Empathy and a patient-centered approach to care
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Clinical, indoor healthcare setting
  • Regular exposure to patients and communicable diseases
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform clinical procedures as required

  • Pediatric experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, and chronic illnesses in pediatric patients.
  • Perform routine, annual, and problem-focused physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical guidelines and best practices.
  • Prescribe medications and counsel patients and caregivers on proper use and potential side effects.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory work, imaging, and other assessments.
  • Educate patients and parents/guardians on disease prevention, wellness, and healthy behaviors.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR systems.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for complex or specialized cases.
  • Refer patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed scope of practice.
  • Perform primary care procedures including immunizations, suturing, splinting, wound care, and cultures.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.
  • Maintain regular and routine onsite attendance.
