About The Position

This position will provide mental health therapy to children, adolescents, and family members through the Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) program at Dell Medical School. The therapist will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, ability work independently with a strong attention to detail, effective oral and written communication skill, and will possess a commitment to professional ethical and practice standards. TCHATT provides telemedicine or telehealth programs to school districts to help identify and assess the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents and provide access to mental health services.

Requirements

  • Be licensed as an LCSW, LPC, or equivalent practiced clinician in the State of Texas.
  • Three (3) years of post-licensure counseling, or related clinical experience is required.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and family systems.
  • Strong technology skills, including the ability to perform computer tasks and use the electronic health record systems independently.
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional ethical and practice standards.
  • Readiness to adopt new techniques and practices as determined by clinical leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Proficiency in at least one electronic medical records system, e.g., Athena.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and provides diagnostic impressions. Formulates treatment plan according to evidence based practices and protocol. Conducts individual, family and group therapy sessions as needed. Monitors patients for suicidal/homicidal intent and ensures patient safety if necessary. Undertakes crisis intervention, as needed.
  • Participates in any supervision, feedback, and quality assurance checks. Maintains client records and performs data entry as required by protocol.
  • Coordinates with referring practitioners, individuals, and family members throughout the treatment. Collaborates with project coordinators and administrative assistants to coordinate patient visits.
  • Attends appropriate training workshops, interdisciplinary meetings and client staffing as required.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
