About The Position

Join a collaborative, patient-centered team at Hartford HealthCare, where we support our physicians in their professional and work-life balance goals. Location(s): Hospital: St. Vincent's Medical Center, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606-4201 Position details: Part time, newborn nursery and hospital pediatric coverage Schedule (below is schedule for full-time; part-time schedule to be worked out with manager): Six (6) weekday shifts and two (2) weekend shifts per four (4) week cycle There are thirteen (13) cycles per year Each shift is twenty-four (24) hours For weekday shifts, physician must be on-site at the hospital between 5:00PM - 10:00AM of each twenty four (24) hour shift and available via phone between 10:00AM - 5:00PM For weekend shifts, physician must be on-site at the hospital for the entire twenty-four (24) hour shift Hospital coverage includes rounding on newborns, attending c-sections (both scheduled and emergent), managing photo therapy, occasional pedi consults to E.D. or floors, and stabilization of newborns for transport Faculty opportunity with Quinnipiac University teaching med students Support from neonatologists 24/7 No circumcisions Hospital averages over 1,000 deliveries annually Why Connecticut? Requirements

  • A passion for providing patient-centered care to a pediatric patient population
  • A willingness to work closely and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • An unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • BC/BE in Pediatrics

Responsibilities

  • rounding on newborns
