About The Position

The Pediatric Dentist provides direct patient care for children ages 4-12 and adults. The Pediatric Dentist is responsible for repairing and removing teeth, diagnosing conditions and communicating with patients about how to best care for their teeth and gums.

Requirements

  • Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited dental program. Board-Certification in Pediatric Residency or 3+ years’ experience treating children ages 4-12.
  • Licensure: Current license to practice dentistry in the State of Texas and a current DEA. Current in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS)
  • Experience: Prefer experience but will consider new graduate.
  • Expertise: Knowledge in all areas of general dentistry.
  • Language: English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Travel: Occasionally; valid Texas drivers’ license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation
  • Understanding and commitment to HIPAA rules and regulations
  • Fosters a positive work environment

Responsibilities

  • Fixing or removing damaged teeth
  • Filling cavities
  • Performing exams and evaluating x-rays to determine a patient’s health
  • Developing treatment plans to deal with any dental health issues
  • Administering or prescribing medications to decrease pain and improve patient health
  • Interacting with patients and instruct them on proper oral care
  • Measuring and fitting dental appliances
  • Referring patients to a specialist if needed
