About The Position
Challenger School is seeking enthusiastic and active individuals to join our team as a P.E. Teacher at our California campuses. As a Challenger P.E. Teacher you will teach students to take ownership of their own physical health by creating healthy habits early in life. We are currently hiring for our eight locations in the Bay Area. Almaden (19950 McKean Road, San Jose, CA 95120) Ardenwood (35487 Dumbarton Court, Newark, CA 94560) Berryessa (711 East Gish Road, San Jose, CA 95112) Harwood (4949 Harwood Road, San Jose, CA 95124) Middlefield (3880 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, CA 94303) Shawnee (500 Shawnee Lane, San Jose, CA 95123) Strawberry Park (730 Camina Escuela, San Jose, CA 95129) Sunnyvale (1185 Hollenbeck Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94087)
Requirements
- Two years of college or equivalent experience in fitness, exercise training, health or coaching
- Ability to pass a background check
- Completion of pre-employment assessments
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly learn Challenger’s P.E. curriculum, teaching methods, and philosophy
- Maintain a safe and productive class environment
- Prepare creative P.E. exercises and fitness activities for 1st through 8th grade students
- Lead daily P.E. classes both inside the gym and out on the field
- Work patiently with students and coworkers
