About The Position

Experience operating and supporting wave and selective soldering equipment used in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly. Responsible for ensuring proper solder application on through-hole components, maintaining equipment settings, monitoring solder quality, and performing routine maintenance to meet production and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and production work instructions
  • Experience with or ability to learn wave and selective soldering processes for PCB assemblies
  • Basic understanding of through-hole components and proper soldering techniques
  • Ability to set up, operate, and monitor soldering equipment to ensure quality standards are met
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify solder defects and quality issues
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to handle tools, fixtures, and testing equipment
  • Basic math and measurement skills for process control and verification
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to soldering processes and equipment
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting
  • Demonstrated competencies outlined in the General Requirements of Team Members
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or electronics assembly environment preferred
  • IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) certification required or must be obtained upon hire.
  • J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) certification required or must be obtained upon hire.
  • IPC-7711/7721 (Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies) certification required or must be obtained upon hire.
  • ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) certification/training required or must be obtained upon hire.
  • Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) or Hazardous Waste Handling training required or provided upon hire.
  • Safety training certifications as required by company policy and OSHA guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any additional site-specific certifications as required for production or defense/regulated work environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of IPC standards
  • Experience with wave or selective soldering is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform various assembly operations as assigned by the production supervisor.
  • Assemble electrical or electromechanical devices or components using a variety of hardware/tools.
  • Operate a variety of equipment as needed to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Perform other assignments as required.
