Job Summary The PCB Designer is responsible for designing, simulating, laying out, and testing printed circuit boards to ensure they meet electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing specifications. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • 5+ years of experience in high‑performance PCB design, preferably in aerospace, defense, or other high‑reliability sectors.
  • Proficient experience with Altium Designer.
  • Experience with high-reliability, aerospace, and/or IPC Class 3 designs.
  • Familiarity with advanced PCB manufacturing techniques such as blind vias and microvias.
  • Excellent understanding of the technical principles of PCB layout.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Demonstrated capability with collaboration tools such as MS Teams, Confluence, and Jira.
  • The ability to work well under deadlines.
  • Strong digital, written, and spoken communication skills, especially in the context of working with hardware engineers and mechanical engineers to complete a layout.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PCB electrical design activities, including schematic development, component selection, and layout guidance for complex, multi‑layer circuit boards.
  • Own the design of high‑speed digital circuits, including processors, memory systems, and high‑bandwidth communication interfaces.
  • Perform detailed PCB layout considerations, such as controlled‑impedance routing, differential pair tuning, stack‑up planning, and power‑distribution design.
  • Conduct signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis to validate design performance and ensure reliable high‑speed operation.
  • Develop resilient architectures incorporating features like redundancy, watchdogs, fail‑safe circuitry, and robust memory subsystems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (firmware, software, systems, mechanical) to ensure seamless integration of board‑level electronics into larger systems.
  • Perform design verification and validation, including board bring‑up, functional testing, environmental testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test procedures, analysis reports, and design review materials.
  • Support manufacturing partners, providing DFM/DFT input and resolving issues in fabrication, assembly, or testing.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (IPC, IEEE, MIL‑STD, etc.) and internal quality processes.
  • Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers in best practices for PCB design and high‑reliability electronics engineering.
  • Treat all team members with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained.
