Position Summary: Provide administrative and other related functions to support the PCA team of RNs and Skills Trainers. Assist PCA staff with interpreting for non-English speaking or limited English speaking consumers on the telephone, in the office or in the consumers' homes.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree and 1 year relevant work required. High School diploma with significant relevant work experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience in Human Service or medical environment helpful.
  • Strong computer, organization and time management skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; knowledge of databases (SAMS) helpful.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills a must in this team oriented position.
  • Must be responsible and have compassion for older people.
  • Must have valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual capacity in Spanish or Khmer strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the PCA group as a team player.
  • Data Entry of PCA nursing evaluations and re-evaluations into the statewide Social Assistance Management System (SAMS) database and the PCA database.
  • Data entry of Prior Authorization approvals into the PCA database.
  • Conduct Skills Trainer and Nursing case reviews.
  • Accompany the Nurse or Skills Trainer on consumer home visits to interpret information from English as required for the assessment.
  • Maintain HIPPA protocols while filing confidential consumer information.
  • Create work copies for nursing re-evaluations.
  • Run monthly reports in SAMS and distribute to team members.
  • Run MassHealth status reports for PCA consumers.
  • Assist in tracking cases from point of referral through the start of the PCA program.
  • Complete on-line PT-1 requests for PCA consumers as needed.
  • Replenish and recycle nurse packet materials.
  • Mail out Fiscal Intermediary packets with MMIS tracking number attached.
  • Maintain supplies of labels, envelopes, forms and other supplies.
  • Assist Program Manager in developing, maintaining and improving systems for efficiency within the PCA program.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the MassHealth Program Manager.
