About The Position

The PC Technician is responsible for providing technical support for computer systems, workstations, and related IT equipment both remotely and in person. This role includes installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting desktop computers, laptops, peripherals, and software applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.  The PC Technician must possess strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset. The position requires the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently while providing clear guidance to users. The successful candidate will represent BlueTeam with professionalism and integrity while contributing to the stability and efficiency of the organization's technology infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of desktop computer hardware, operating systems, and common software applications.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a patient, approachable ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of invoicing and accounts receivable processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple support requests and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving IT environments.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • One (1) to Two (2) years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or a related technical role preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with common operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and macOS.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktop and laptop systems.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ certification highly recommended.
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Client certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Provide technical support to users through email, phone, remote tools, or in-person assistance.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and basic network connectivity issues.
  • Perform system imaging, software installation, and workstation setup for new employees.
  • Maintain and update operating systems, software applications, and security patches.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning computer equipment and replace defective components when necessary.
  • Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions within the ticketing system.
  • Provide users with clear, step-by-step guidance during the troubleshooting process.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level IT staff when necessary.
  • Assist with inventory management of IT hardware and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on computer systems and equipment.
  • Educate users on proper use of computer systems and IT resources.
  • Relay user feedback to internal teams to improve IT services and support processes.
  • Perform additional duties within the IT department as assigned.
