About The Position

The PBX/Switchboard Department serves as the central communication hub for Baptist Health Lexington, supporting patients, visitors, team members, and clinical staff across the hospital. This team manages all incoming and outgoing calls, overhead paging, emergency code communications, and critical notification processes. Switchboard Operators play a vital role in ensuring timely, accurate, and courteous communication, often serving as the first point of contact for individuals reaching the hospital. The department is staffed 24/7, providing continuous support to clinical operations, security, and patient services. With a focus on professionalism, excellent customer service, and attention to detail, PBX/Switchboard contributes significantly to the smooth, safe, and efficient functioning of the organization. Supervisor Full-Time Job Description: Develop bi-weekly work schedule to ensure the department is adequately staffed. Track attendance of department staff. Approve timecards of departmental staff Address performance issues in a timely manner. Conduct Annual Evaluations of departmental staff. Oversee the various staff requirements such as annual education and TB tests. Perform administrative tasks associated with requesting, filling, and terminating positions. Oversee the selection and interview of new staff. Perform all the competencies of a PBX/Switchboard Operator and Communication Specialist.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent
  • Three years of related experience
