About The Position

Position Summary: Oversees the bi-weekly reconciliations of benefits and leave, including all employer-sponsored, voluntary, retirement, leave benefits and requirements under the Affordable Care Act. Confirms compliance with all Bancroft policies and procedures and federal and state laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • BS in Business, Information Technology or related field preferred; minimum of five years of experience in the benefits, payroll or accounting fields, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • A solid knowledge base of accounting issues, financial recordkeeping procedures, laws, regulations and standards, particularly as they relate to healthcare enterprises required. Ability to follow policies and procedures to maintain compliance with various accounting regulations, knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures, and knowledge of current changes and/or developments in applicable federal, state and local laws required. Effective communication, interpersonal skills, presentation, project management and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews analysis of vendor reports and employee data in UKG, as completed by staff, on a bi-weekly basis
  • In situations where discrepancies arise, supports team in resolving such discrepancies
  • Reviews reconciliations of the following benefits each month: Medical Dental Vision Life Short-term and long-term disability Voluntary benefits Pledges 403(b) Any other benefits not specifically listed
  • Reviews reconciliation of UKG ACA report on a weekly basis
  • Coordinates with New York Life as needed if team is unable to reconcile appropriate employee benefits for all types of leave
  • Reviews reconciliation of 403(b) for each bi-weekly pay period
  • Supports team when discrepancies cannot be resolved, partnering with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate
  • Provide additional support as needed for other benefits such as tuition reimbursement, student loans, expense reimbursements, etc.
  • Participates in annual 403(b) audit
  • Participates in annual budget process
  • Performs research of benefits-related transactions as needed
  • Performs other duties and special assignments, as required. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments, based on organizational and departmental needs.
  • Upon request, willingly cooperates with senior management, or any federal, state or local agency or licensing authority, in connection with ongoing inspections and investigations.
  • Remains current with required training certifications, meets state-regulated licensing and regulatory accreditations, and adheres to mandatory requirements.
  • Abides by the Bancroft Code of Ethics, Mission Statement, and Vision Statement in promoting ethical behavior, establishing relationships and providing guidance in decision-making situations.
  • Maintains effective verbal and written communications with colleagues, those served, and their family members and/or guardians when applicable.

  • Reports any violations to the appropriate individual as soon as an incident occurs.
