About The Position

Anteris is a science-driven structural heart company that is redefining expectations and advancing the field through cutting-edge solutions focused on restoring native-like physiology versus treating symptoms of structural heart disease. We are currently developing a new class of TAVR designed to mimic the performance of a healthy aortic valve. With offices in Minneapolis, MN, US; Geneva, Switzerland; and Brisbane and Perth, Australia, we have a growing and inclusive team. We are seeking a detail-oriented and execution-driven Payroll Staff Accountant to support accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations across the U.S. and Europe, while contributing to broader accounting and financial reporting activities. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and is comfortable balancing payroll execution with general ledger, reconciliation, and audit support responsibilities. The successful candidate will ensure payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls, while partnering cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and external vendors. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of payroll and/or general accounting experience; multi-state payroll experience required.
  • Experience supporting international payroll (EU preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and payroll platforms; ERP experience preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a public company or global organization.
  • Exposure to medical device, manufacturing, or highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with DEEL payroll platform or other global payroll providers supporting international employees and contractors.
  • CPA or pursuing certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly and/or monthly payroll for U.S. and EU employees, including salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time in compliance with federal, state, local, and international regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, timesheets, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax reports; coordinate remittances and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide clear explanations regarding pay, deductions, and benefits.
  • Support payroll system updates, testing, and process improvements.
  • Partner with external payroll providers and payroll tax specialists as needed.
  • Record payroll-related journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts in the general ledger.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Support preparation and review of financial statements, management reports, and tax filings.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing, as needed.
  • Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external auditors.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll and accounting efficiency.
  • Ensure payroll and accounting documentation is organized, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, senior leadership, and external advisors to support overall financial operations.
