Requirements

  • Strong understanding of payroll best practices and accounting fundamentals
  • Exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage high-volume payroll in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability
  • Professional and friendly communication style
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • 3 or more years of payroll administration experience
  • Experience with payroll systems, ADP preferred

Nice To Haves

  • CPP designation, or actively working toward CPP, is an asset
  • Automotive dealership experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly and monthly payroll for multi-store operations, including salary, commission, and incentive-based employees
  • Verify timecards, overtime, bonuses, and payroll deductions
  • Administer garnishments, retirement deductions, and tax withholdings
  • Maintain payroll records and complete regular audits
  • Support year-end payroll activities and reporting
  • Collect and process new hire paperwork, tax forms, and direct deposit information
  • Enter employee data into payroll and timekeeping systems
  • Support benefits enrollment and ensure payroll deductions are set up correctly
  • Provide payroll guidance during orientation and compliance onboarding
  • Process final pay, PTO payouts, and severance when required
  • Manage benefit terminations and COBRA notifications
  • Ensure proper documentation and record retention
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll and employment regulations
  • Produce payroll and audit reports for Finance, HR, and leadership teams
  • Support system updates, enhancements, and process improvements
