About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll for a large hourly workforce within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this fully on-site role based in our North Hollywood corporate headquarters, you will manage end-to-end payroll processes across multiple pay cycles while partnering closely with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure compliance, data integrity, and seamless payroll operations. This position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys problem-solving, working with cross-functional teams, and supporting employees with payroll and timekeeping questions. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of payroll processing required.
  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of wage and hour laws and payroll compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting multi-state payroll and payroll tax processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential employee information.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to support employees at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with UKG (UKG Ready, and/or UKG Pro) and with Concur highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing multi-state payroll across all pay cycles (weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly)
  • Review and audit timecards, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain employee payroll data: new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, deductions, and Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and pre-/post‑payroll audits.
  • Partner with HR and Accounting to support payroll-related tasks and workforce needs
  • Respond to employee payroll and timekeeping inquiries professionally and accurately.
  • Work within UKG (/Ready/Pro), assisting with system updates and data integrity.
  • Monitor and resolve daily timekeeping exceptions, including meal penalties and missing punches.
  • Calculate and verify payroll adjustments, including wage corrections, overtime, retroactive pay, and PTO payouts.
  • Accurate processing of wage garnishments, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions
  • Assist with internal and external payroll audits.
  • Contribute to payroll-related process improvements and collaborate on projects.
