About The Position

SALTO Systems Inc. is seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join their North America team in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is part of the Core Services team and involves taking ownership of payroll processes for both U.S. and Canadian workforces. Salto is a global access solutions provider, part of the SALTO WECOSYSTEM, focused on revolutionizing access control with innovative, intelligent solutions. The Payroll Specialist will be essential in ensuring accurate and timely payment and support for employees. The position is based onsite in Atlanta, GA (Buckhead), with potential for remote work after a probationary period, but it is not primarily a remote role.

  • 3+ years of payroll administration experience.
  • Experience with multi-state U.S. payroll.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office (Excel required).
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, taxes, benefits and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Administer payroll for U.S. and Canada employees, including multi-state and provincial payrolls.
  • Process exempt and non-exempt payroll cycles, including biweekly/semi-monthly and off-cycle runs.
  • Calculate wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and taxes accurately.
  • Assist with managing all withholding, state and local tax licenses and certificates are up to date.
  • Prepare and validate direct deposits and pay summaries.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and provincial payroll laws and tax regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA guidelines and Canadian employment standards.
  • Update and audit employee information in the HRIS for accuracy and completeness.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries from employees and management.
  • Partner with HR, Accounting, Operations, and Senior Leadership to resolve issues promptly.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally with all levels of the organization.
  • Take the lead on payroll workflow improvements and documentation.
  • Own monthly payroll reporting and support accounting with reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports for audits, benefits, and management reviews.
