About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to manage and review employee timecards, process payroll cycles, and ensure accurate and confidential payroll records. This role involves collaborating with HR and Finance teams, responding to employee inquiries, and assisting with payroll audits and compliance reporting.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with supporting payroll processing or garnishment processes for an employee population of 500–1,000.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in business or accounting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with basic sorting/filtering functions within Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with payroll systems such as ADP.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with HR and Finance teams.
  • Strong communication skills for addressing employee inquiries and coordinating with external agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Review employee timecards and attendance records for accuracy.
  • Enter payroll data into the payroll system and verify calculations.
  • Process bi-weekly or weekly payroll cycles, including adjustments for overtime, deductions, and benefits.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Assist with payroll audits and compliance reporting.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed.
  • Receive and review incoming garnishment orders from various programs and agencies.
  • Accurately enter garnishment details into payroll systems and ensure timely deductions.
  • Coordinate payment processing and distribution to appropriate agencies or parties.
  • Maintain detailed records of garnishment transactions and ensure confidentiality.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for garnishment inquiries from internal teams and external agencies.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding wage garnishments.
  • Collaborate with payroll and HR teams to resolve discrepancies or issues.
  • Utilize tools such as ExpertPay for processing and reporting.
