About The Position

A leading organization is currently seeking an energetic and results driven Payroll Specialist. They will report to the company’s Director of Payroll and assist with various responsibilities of the payroll department. This position will collaborate with the field employees and office staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience with in-house payroll processing
  • Union (construction trades preferred) & Non Union environment experience required
  • Experience processing payroll for 300+ employees
  • Construction background or industry related background is necessary
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail, Excellent customer service
  • Computer proficiency (advanced excel knowledge a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors: Provide a warm welcome to students, faculty, staff, and guests, and direct them to the appropriate departments or individuals.
  • Intake & entry of new hires into the on-site ERP
  • Intake and processing of layoffs & missed time requests
  • Payroll time entry and reconciliation thereof for both union and corporate employees
  • Addressing payroll related requests/ inquiries from field personnel
  • Weekly & Monthly compliance reporting of: Certified Payrolls, OCIP/CCIP reporting on various online portals, MEUR Reporting
  • Maintenance of all union documentation such as union CBA agreements, rate and fringe increase rate schedules, and remittance reports
  • Processing unemployment & disability claims
  • Intake and entry of child support and garnishment IWO’s
  • PTO tracking
  • Assisting PR Department with migration and implementation of a new payroll system
  • Assisting in transition, implementation, & ongoing maintenance of mobile time application
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, & external parties
