About The Position

Amentum is looking for a Payroll Specialist for the Space Force Range Contract. This is a hybrid position based at Patrick Space Force base. Essential Job Functions: Process and validate weekly timesheets and labor information Process and validate bi-weekly payroll data such as wages, tax information, leave accruals, benefits, bonuses, and deductions. Answer employee questions and inquiries about payroll issues such as overpayments, benefit deductions and direct deposit to ensure employee understanding of and compliance with company policies and practices. Assist in maintaining current employee information such as tax exemptions and direct deposit. Process union dues for payment to union, update annual dues increases and ensure accuracy Review, research, and adjust time records and payroll reports to ensure accuracy to complete payroll. Assist in preparing journal entries and account analysis Process payments to outside vendors and subcontractors, reconciling payments to invoices and supporting documentation. Process time sheets, labor information and payroll data such as wages, tax information, benefits, bonuses, and deductions. Participate in special projects such as accounting software updates Other departmental duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field
  • Two or more years of accounting or payroll experience; prefer experience with union CBAs, garnishments, federal/state/local payroll taxations
  • Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including a solid working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and ADP
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check (NAC), which requires U.S. citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail
  • Solid personal computer and business solutions software skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours to support specific project requirements
