At Kimball Midwest, you are a name and not a number and we pride ourselves on our unique culture.   Role Summary:  We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our payroll team. This role is responsible for accurately processing payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing exceptional support to employees regarding pay-related questions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations (FLSA, state taxes, garnishments)
  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Lyric)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multi-state payroll (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly/semimonthly payroll for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees
  • Maintain and audit employee payroll records for accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws, tax regulations, and company policies
  • Process new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and garnishments
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams as needed
  • Assist with year-end activities, including W-2 processing
