About The Position

The Payroll Specialist II is responsible for ensuring all aspects of the payroll cycle, including tax, benefits, garnishments, etc. are processed, reconciled, audited and transmitted accurately and timely. You will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll impacting changes, tax forms, payments and payroll processing for assigned clients. You will be responsible for quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy and low error or defect percentage. This position works with cross-functional internal partners to resolve client payroll matters and employee inquiries. You will provide payroll support services to customers according to Dayforce contracts, legislative requirements and business needs. The Payroll Specialist II manages client and consumer related tasks within the case management system ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of payroll knowledge
  • Good time management to meet the deliverables
  • Understanding of SLAs and payroll deliverables
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with clients and internal team members
  • Can work as part of a team and independently with little supervision
  • Have an “I own it” attitude about deliverables and projects from start to finish
  • A desire to continually learn and thrive in a fast-changing environment
  • Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Be flexible in work schedule to support clients and team based on business needs
  • Fluent in English both verbal & written
  • Basic understanding of payroll, benefits and taxation and some understanding of legislative requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an outsource environment an asset
  • Experience with Dayforce or similar cloud payroll technology an asset

Responsibilities

  • Drive customer satisfaction by providing high quality of service

  • Create, update standard operating procedures
  • Meets quality control standards
  • Manage client and consumer related tasks within the case management system ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
  • Perform administrative functions as required
  • Responsible for quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy and low error or defect percentage
  • Work with cross-functional internal partners to resolve client payroll matters and employer and employee inquiries
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients and internal team members
  • Ensure all aspects of the payroll cycle including all payroll impacting changes are processed, reconciled, audited and transmitted accurately and timely
  • Provide Payroll services to clients according to Dayforce contract, legislative requirements and business needs
  • Proactively manage quarter, and year-end payroll auditing and processing
  • Resolve client’s issues and provide superior customer service to internal and external partners
  • Canada specific: Performs monthly reconciliations of tax remittances
