About The Position

The Prevailing Wage Specialist is responsible for accurately managing prevailing wage compliance requirements and payroll in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of prevailing wage rates, fringe benefits, and associated reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn, payroll software
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant prevailing wage and payroll experience
  • Prevailing wage experience required; preference for experience with Federal Davis-Bacon and State of California prevailing wage laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in SAGE 300 preferred but not required
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all regulatory reporting and requests at the onset of job awards to appropriate authorities (DAS 140, DAS 142, and any forms required by each builder or awarding body).
  • Ensure adherence to prevailing wage laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Process weekly payroll accurately and in a timely manner, considering prevailing wage rates, overtime, fringe benefits, and other relevant factors.
  • Verify and review employee timecards to ensure compliance with prevailing wage rates and project-specific requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of hours worked, wages paid, and other payroll-related information in accordance with prevailing wage requirements.
  • Prepare and submit prevailing wage reports to regulatory authorities as required.
  • Prepare and submit monthly training fund contributions to the State of California.
  • Prepare and submit monthly OCIP reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
