Summary and Objective The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Essential functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including semi-monthly payroll salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Respond to routine inquiries concerning payroll deductions, wage garnishments and earning verifications. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes to pay rates. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Complete any planning, project management and communication necessary to stay ahead of employee payroll. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures. Set up the General Ledger for payroll in conjunction with the Accounting department. Assists with related special projects as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Microsoft Office Suites
  • More than proficient in Excel
  • Paycom or related HRIS
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Five to seven years of processing payroll for a multi-state.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, must provide two forms of Federal Identification.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. This includes verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and any other relevant information necessary to determine the suitability for the position.
