Requirements

  • Associates degree from two-year College or technical school; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work independently, follow up and perform assignments with moderate direction.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and guest service skills required.
  • Ability to interact positively with employees, supervisors, managers and external customers.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of general business administration including personnel practices, employment and payroll laws, and general accounting practices.
  • Must be customer service oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment dealing with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality with strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional, courteous, and effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and outside business contacts.
  • Proven intermediate skills in Windows, MS Office Programs (Word & Excel), and experience with database systems. Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, charts, forms and other information and instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment required.
  • Skills in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of general business administration including personnel practices, employment and payroll laws, and general accounting practices.
  • Skills in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A/3 gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and the State of Washington.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles, inputs and audits payroll data submitted by departments and employees, including electronic time records, time off requests, insurance, 401(k) deductions and tips.
  • Contact various departments to verify missed punches and timecard errors.
  • Processes Payroll Change Notices. Ensures accuracy of the information provided on the forms such as effective dates, retro dates, address changes etc.
  • Produce reports as necessary upon department requests.
  • Performs follow-up work to ensure all documents are completed with necessary data and supporting documents.
  • Performs complex data entry tasks for which there is a moderate variation of formats and procedures and with general instructions for entering data. Check and correct entries for input errors.
  • Processes direct deposit information/changes as requested by team members.
  • Performs special analysis as required.
  • Distributes timecard reports to managers/CFO for signature. Tracks and assures all required reports have been returned for audit purposes.
  • Reports to department Supervisor/Manager regarding daily/weekly payroll issues.
  • Handles all missing punches and timecard exceptions.
  • Photocopies documents, collates, assembles and distributes payroll materials.
  • Organizes, runs and distributes reports in a timely manner.
  • Greets and interacts with employees in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner - both on the telephone and in person.
  • Responds to employee’s requests in a timely, attentive and professional manner.
  • Ensures exceptional guest service to internal and external customers.
  • Performs controls to ensure accuracy of all payroll related information.
  • Ensures security and confidentiality of all payroll and personnel records.
  • Generate reports as requested by other departments.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of current and applicable payroll laws and regulations.
  • Ability to use the latest Windows version, Excel, Word and other computer software.
  • Complete all work in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Obtains and restocks supplies as needed.
  • Correctly complete all required paperwork per company procedure.
  • Attends all mandatory department, casino and/or training meetings.
  • Follows all department and casino policies, procedures, and regulations as required.
  • Ensures compliance with Tribal, State, Federal, and NIGC regulations.
  • Ensures control/protection of company assets as applicable.
  • Works days, nights, weekends, special events, overtime and holidays as needed.
  • Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.
  • Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule and subject to change.
  • Other duties as assigned.
