About The Position

We are seeking a full time Payroll Clerk at Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX. The Payroll Clerk will process weekly payroll and maintain employee time records. Hourly Pay Rate $25.00 - $27.00 Responsibilities: Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, direct deposit updates and other information. Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions. Ability to review and update PTO accruals monthly. Distribution of pay checks and statements to management team. Understands Federal, State, and local wage and hour policies and employment tax laws; and performs action necessary to determine pay and deductions including Federal and State taxes, insurance, retirement, union dues, savings, and other deductions. Issues final pay on discharge to include PTO accrual. Review and update payroll discrepancies that arise after close, process pay request. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Employees in Healthcare are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a term and condition of employment at Xanitos, absent a legally required Medical or Religious exception, and are required to report their vaccination status and upload proof of vaccination via a secure online portal. High School diploma required. College degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software. Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines; self-directed.
