About The Position

Payroll Clerk Seeking a qualified individual with experience to process in house employee payroll, remit weekly, quarterly, annual taxes, manages employee benefits and various other accounting duties Responsibilities Include: Process new hires in DMS, Timekeeping, Payroll system Process multi state weekly & monthly payroll using in house system. Compile & process payroll data such as vacation time, garnishments, benefit deductions, 401K Remit weekly, quarterly and annual taxes to State and Federal Government as required by law, including W-2’s Manage employee Benefits. Providing benefit orientation & enrollment. Update payroll records by entering changes in address, exemptions, insurance coverage deductions, 401K, etc. Maintain records for employee time off, vacations, sick days. Manage workers comp claims, hearings, unemployment claims, verification of employment, etc Manage employee time clock system & attendance software. Reconcile monthly & annual 401K deductions and remit to vendor. Process payable checks as required. Prepare accounting transactions into general ledge as required Provide support to analyze, research and resolve problems and errors within the system Provide support for payroll reporting; compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions and insurance. Additional reporting as directed by manager. Process employee termination papers including Cobra documents Balance and reconcile accounts including bank statements Keep abreast and maintain working knowledge of all HR and Payroll policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Prior payroll processing experience is mandatory
  • Ability to analyze and research problems
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Understands the importance of working with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to exercise a moderate amount of independent judgement

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using CDK; CDK preferred but not required
  • Automotive dealership experience not required but moves you to the top of the list
