About The Position

Oversee the accurate, compliant, and timely processing of employee compensation while managing the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) technology, data integrity, and reporting. Key responsibilities include ensuring federal/state compliance, optimizing HR systems, and collaborating with HR and Finance for audits and analytics.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, well organized, and capable of prioritizing in a multitasking environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external resources.
  • Good computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook); AXAPTA experience a plus.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive collaborative attitude across Republic Elite processes and with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing payroll processing for organizations with 1,000+ employees in a multi-state environment.
  • Processing payroll for a public company with knowledge of SOX compliance and controls.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including skills in v-lookups, pivot tables, and use of if(and) functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with payroll systems, including but not limited to ADP Workforce Now.
  • Proficiency in other MS Office tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Familiarity with state-specific sick and meal laws, particularly in states such as California, Colorado, Washington, and Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of the weekly and bi-weekly payroll processes, ensuring precise reconciliation, bank transmittal, and compliance with tax regulations, resulting in timely and error-free associate compensation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through training and support, to enhance team performance and efficiency.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ADP earnings and deductions, implementing company-wide compliance strategies that align with legal standards and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with the finance, accounting, and HR teams to guarantee prompt payroll transmittals and ensure vendor files are reconciled and submitted promptly.
  • Conduct thorough weekly/biweekly payroll audits and approvals, enhancing accuracy and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the integration of payroll history loads and manage tax adjustments associated with acquisitions, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance.
  • Partner with HR Leadership and HRBP teams, providing expertise in compliance matters and contributing to the successful completion of special projects that align with strategic goals.
  • Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, ensuring timely submissions and alignment with statutory requirements.
  • Assist with annual benefit OE process, new hire process, termination process, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
