About The Position

Join IMEG as a Payroll Analyst in Rock Island, IL and help support the processing of multi-state payroll, auditing payroll reports, reconciling payroll accounts, and the payment of federal, state and local taxes. This role will also be responsible for supporting pay data analysis requests, compiling required reporting to government agencies, and monitoring payroll data integrations. Principal Responsibilities Administers, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions Conducts auditing of payroll and employee data reports to ensure accuracy and consistency of the payroll and timekeeping systems and prepares reports for auditors Research, evaluate, and resolve payroll-related issues and/or employee questions in a proper and timely manner Works closely with the benefits team to ensure pay and benefits for employees on leave are processed correctly Works closely with the accounting and finance department in reviewing and researching payroll-related banking transactions (refunds, charges, etc.) Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements and payments and prepare and submit certified payroll reports Assist in maintaining the payroll vendor ticketing system Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions including the preparation of special reports for government agencies, tax authorities, insurance companies and other units as needed Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices, staying abreast of necessary changes and reporting requirements Works with vendors and internal resources to ensure data integrations are timely and accurate Develop and document internal processes and procedures to support consistency and process improvement and escalates issues of non-compliance

Requirements

  • Knowledge of compensation practices and payroll accounting including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to payroll compliance
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Highly responsive to business needs, committed to providing strong customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate across all corporate levels
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field, required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with HRIS/Payroll systems
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday payroll software preferred
