This position is integral and crucial to the success of the HR Service Center and the larger HR organization. It will oversee all aspects of our outsourced payroll processing, tax compliance, and workers compensation program management. The role requires a high level of accuracy, accountability, confidentiality, and expertise. This is not just a position but a hands-on role. The Payroll Analyst will actively support HRBPs, Manager, and Employees. This role is required to be onsite five days a week at our Huntersville, NC location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in payroll & tax compliance
  • Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now a must have
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong data analytical capabilities with HR metrics and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to present data that tells a story
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer Service orientation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Support payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment to all employees and compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, deductions, garnishments, etc.
  • Responds to tax notices and ensures expeditious resolution by ADP.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll & tax data to ensure accuracy & compliance.
  • Ensure accurate quarter and yearend closings.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve pay-related issues timely.
  • Support and respond to all payroll related audits, payroll reporting requests, etc.
  • Works with ADP to create new pay and deduction codes, ensuring codes are mapped correctly and tested.
  • Supports any process and/or system improvements.
  • Works with managers to resolve timecard errors.
  • Responds to wage audits, employment verification, and similar
  • Responsible for annual affirmative action reports and EEO filings
  • Manages all overpayments
  • Responds to workers compensation annual audits or other inquiries related to workers compensation
