You’ll work at the intersection of payroll, accounting, compliance, and collaboration—partnering closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations to ensure every paycheck, deduction, commission, and contribution is accurate, compliant, and handled with integrity. You’ll be a trusted expert and a go-to partner across the organization, making real impact every pay cycle.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Five or more years of payroll processing experience
  • Three or more years of accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state and local payroll tax systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal and state payroll compliance
  • Experience in multi-entity, multi-state environments
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing accuracy

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
  • Experience with Paylocity or another outsourced payroll provider
  • QuickBooks Desktop or comparable accounting software experience

Responsibilities

  • Support bi-monthly payroll processing for four business units
  • Audit timesheets, payroll data, earnings, deductions, and reimbursements
  • Calculate sales commissions and management tier bonuses accurately and on time
  • Lead tax registrations as the company expands into new states and jurisdictions
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies with clarity and professionalism
  • Reconcile payroll balance sheet accounts and resolve variances
  • Oversee 401(k), FSA, payroll advances, and benefit reimbursement accounts
  • Prepare, post, and reconcile payroll-related general ledger entries
  • Support audits with schedules, reconciliations, and documentation
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee data
  • Stay current on payroll system updates and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to elevate payroll accuracy and efficiency
