About The Position

The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for coordinating the credentialing processes for new and established providers, acquiring documentation for initial/reappointment applications, complete day-to-day administrative tasks and all other duties as assigned. Ultimately, the following duties serve to ensure UF Health St. Johns and its employed providers and payors remain compliant with state and federal certification and licensure regulations by maintaining up-to-date record of each physician’s current credentialed status.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • 3 years Office experience in healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with providers to obtain all medical documentation for developing database information for practitioners. Analyze information obtained to insure completeness of file database and perform all follow-up activity to maintain current provider credentials and payor files for the enterprise.
  • Updates and maintains provider data within CAQH and NPPES data banks.
  • Works with necessary individuals—including providers, other professional staff, and their office or clerical staff—to acquire necessary materials, documentation, and information for provider credentials and licensure.
  • Assists in filling out and reviewing applications with practitioners and other applicable staff.
  • Safeguards the integrity of privileged information and credential files in a professional, sensitive manner. Maintains strict confidentiality of information at all times.
  • Provides all credentialing contacts, payer representatives, and agency intermediaries with excellent customer service. Assists the department manager and related staff with additional administrative tasks as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by department.
