Our Summer Internship Program, beginning in June 2026, provides immersive training and introduction to Santander. You will be combining this training with practical experience on both technical and interpersonal skills, helping your development during the internship. The 2026 Santander Summer Internship Program is for undergraduate students and/or graduate level students who have an expected graduation date between December 2026 and May/June 2027. Santander US is a nationwide business with locations across the country. This position is located in Boston, MA or Miami, FL. The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location. You will be given exposure to the innerworkings of one largest financial institutions in the world. Working with best-in-class teams and contributing to projects that drive innovation across the organization. As part of the internship program, you will participate in structured professional development opportunities, create connections with peers and meet leaders across Santander. As a Payments Domain intern, you will come out of this experience with an understanding of how money moves into and out of the bank. You will gain direct knowledge of core payment products such as ACH, Wires, Zelle, and Real-Time Payments, and could include exposure to vendors and IT teams to design, build, and enhance these solutions. You’ll learn how payment products are specified, monitored, and managed to ensure secure, reliable movement of funds across the banking ecosystem.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate or graduate student with an expected graduation date between either December 2026 or May/June 2027.
  • Area of Study: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent field
  • Cumulative GPA is 3.0 or above.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and follow through on commitments.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and courage.
  • Strong English communication skills both written and spoken required.
  • Analytical thinkers with a strong attention to detail.
  • Organized and able to manage time and multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently on special projects.
  • Ability to effectively contribute to a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in or exposure to accounting, finance, economics, or business. (Preferred)
  • Experience in Tableau, Power BI, or Snowflake (Preferred)
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products. (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, data gathering, and analytical assessments to support new business opportunities, operational enhancements, and change initiatives.
  • Evaluate business cases that justify new investments or strategic shifts.
  • Translate complex data sets into meaningful insights, trends, and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Work with leaders and teams across the bank to understand strategic priorities and reporting needs
  • Extract, organize, and validate data from multiple internal and external sources
  • Support project oversight efforts to ensure initiatives align with business requirements, priorities, and delivery expectations.
  • Contribute to the creation and enhancement of enterprise reporting for Group stakeholders, promoting alignment across business lines and collaboration with IT, Operations, and Business partners.
