About The Position

The Payment Specialist will analyze, post, balance, and report payments for designated entities and payers to the appropriate billing system(s). The ideal candidate will have knowledge of home infusion, medical billing practices, and payer reimbursement guidelines, as well as strong communication and problem-solving skills. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and proficiency with Microsoft 365. Experience with cash experience, posting payments, and experience reading EOB’s (Explanation of Benefits) is preferred. As part of Evernorth Health Services, this role supports CarepathRx within our Pharmacy and Care Delivery organization. Our team focuses on specialty pharmacy and infusion services in partnership with hospitals and health systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Cash experience, posting payments, and reading EOB’s is required.
  • Collections or medical billing experience with an understanding of ICD9, CPT4, HCPCS and medical terminology is preferred.
  • Familiarity with third party payer guidelines, reimbursement practices and available financial resources is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ScriptMed a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned book of business posting payments, completing transfers, correction adjustments and refunds as needed.
  • Post payments once batch balances.
  • Record daily cash posting to log.
  • Balance daily to cash sheet.
