About The Position

The main purpose of this job is to meet critical deadlines in the department to make sure important files are delivered to and received from the appropriate systems in a timely manner. As a Payment Specialist you'll be responsible for meeting critical deadlines in the department to make sure important files are delivered to and received from the appropriate systems in a timely manner. You'll also work with Commercial Customer Support and Treasury Services to respond to customer inquiries and help to resolve any problems. Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of bank operations
  • Basic understanding of Mainframe/TSO facilities
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong typing skills
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 1+ year banking operations experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Experience with ACH processing rules and regulations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all tasks for department files that are ready for processing
  • Ensure critical deadlines are met and all files are delivered and/or received in a timely manner
  • Set up and maintain customers
  • Work with internal teams to respond to any customer questions and resolve any problems
  • Handle any customer inquiries regarding department products
  • Investigate when files are not delivered promptly and distinguish the cause by working with Information Technology (IT), management, and/or vendors to locate problems and solutions
  • Determine if late files should be accepted
  • Perform special projects assigned by management
  • Train other staff members on department functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
