About The Position

Help members find their way forward. As a Payment Solutions Specialist, you will work directly with members to resolve delinquent accounts by creating practical payment solutions and recommending loss-mitigation options across consumer, real estate, credit card, and commercial loans. You will play a key role in improving delinquency performance and reducing credit losses, while also contributing ideas that improve processes, automation, and overall effectiveness. Requirements

  • This role requires Subject Matter Expertise and the ability to provide mentorship, guidance and training to other team members.
  • While this level of expertise will generally be attained with a minimum of 2 years in a previous collections’ role and Associates Degree.
  • Priority will be place upon the demonstration of the ability to meet qualifications without an absolute focus on duration of experience, in recognition that the attainment of such qualifications may be obtained at different paces by different individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Member Contact & Early-Stage Delinquency Resolution Contacts delinquent members, identifies causes of past-due status, and determines willingness and ability to repay.
  • Negotiates repayment solutions, provides hardship assistance, and educates members on credit impact and improvement strategies.
  • Applies knowledge of products, policies, and systems to resolve accounts, address discrepancies, and document all collection efforts accurately.
  • Advanced Delinquency Management & Loss Prevention Analyzes account risk, utilizes skip tracing, and recommends appropriate recovery actions including loss mitigation referral.
  • Assigns repossessions/foreclosures, recommends write-offs, and manages escalated or high-risk accounts.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, regulations, and applicable laws while minimizing credit union losses.
  • Long-Term Hardship Solutions Evaluates financial hardship and develops sustainable workout or modification options.
  • Partners with members to prevent charge-off, foreclosure, or repossession when possible.
  • Documents decisions and ensures regulatory and policy compliance.
