Job Description: Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Post insurance payments (EOBs/ERAs) and patient payments (checks, credit cards, cash) accurately and in a timely manner
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs) for accuracy
- Reconcile daily payment batches and ensure totals match deposits
- Process refunds and credit balances as needed
- Maintain accurate patient account records within the billing system
- Collaborate with billing, coding, and collections teams to resolve payment issues
- Assist with month-end closing and reporting activities
- Other duties as assigned
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory requirements
