About The Position

The Payment Operations Manager oversees and directs all transactions related to loan payments, including borrower payments, investor and participant remittances, and loan sale transactions. Develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce errors, addressing discrepancies and implementing process improvements ensuring accurate processing and timely reconciliations. Develop and maintain enhanced reporting, communication and remittance processing within the secondary market area ensuring on-going strengthening of relationships.

Requirements

  • High degree of mathematical aptitude; advanced skills in Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Relationship building and team management.
  • Demonstrated excellence in working with peer teams across organizations as well as with external business partners.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and banking and lending software programs and platforms.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Five years’ experience in commercial payments and remittance processing with leadership role.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations for all incoming and outgoing transactions ensuring transactions are handled securely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Reconcile all facets of incoming and outgoing transactions verifying discrepancies are resolved accurately and timely.
  • Develop efficient processes relative to security holder concurrences on servicing actions such as modifications, extensions, adjustments and other action of interest.
  • Partner with financial analysts to ensure timely communication, concurrence requirements and tracking of concurrences.
  • Develop and track metrics across secondary market sales; develop and track metrics for department performance through SLA implementation of remittances.
  • Ensure system requirements meet expectations of secondary market delivery and performance of remittances.
  • Partner with core provider for system improvements, escalate system deficiencies to Senior Manager.
  • Make recommendations for strengthening the secondary market process relative to presenting loans to the market, settlement transactions, transparency in the remittance process and timely communication to secondary market holders.
  • Direct activities of loan sale transactions including bid presentation, bid award, settlement transactions and good delivery of loan sale documents.
  • Partner with internal and external sources to ensure participations are successfully placed and appropriately communicated for system accuracy.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate department procedures related to transaction processing, loan sale management and daily departmental operations.
  • Routinely evaluate departmental procedures for consistent process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external customers and business partners.
  • Complete all assigned mandatory and regulatory training within required time frames.
  • Maintain a work area which ensures the safety and confidentiality of all customer records and transactions.
  • Understand and comply with Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Policies and Procedures.

  • Represent Community Bank & Trust – West Georgia in the community and at community events.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
