About The Position

This role offers the chance to play a key part in ensuring healthcare payment integrity through advanced claims auditing and analysis. The Payment Accuracy Specialist will work with large datasets to uncover billing compliance issues, perform detailed audits, and identify recoverable claims. The position involves collaborating with internal teams to develop, implement, and refine audit processes, while providing mentorship to less-experienced colleagues. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality, and productivity, and for recommending improvements to existing workflows. This position requires a strong attention to detail, proficiency with data tools, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to both peers and stakeholders. Requirements

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (4–6 years) in healthcare.
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in claims auditing or payment accuracy, preferably within healthcare.
  • Knowledge of claim adjustments, provider contracts, reimbursement policies, and payment integrity processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access); SQL experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle large datasets, validate reports, and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong interest in continuous improvement and process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits on healthcare claims using proprietary systems and reporting tools, identifying recoverable claims and compliance issues.
  • Develop and implement audit concepts, procedures, and validation methods, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Mentor and train less-tenured team members, sharing expertise and best practices.
  • Perform advanced analysis of paid claims to uncover insights and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and analytics teams to optimize reporting systems and tools.
  • Ensure adherence to client contracts, reimbursement policies, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards, meeting or exceeding audit goals and metrics.
