About The Position

Payloads Senior Engineering Manager - 737 Galleys, Lavatories, WOWE, and Electrical Subsystems Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Payloads Senior Engineering Manager (Level L) to lead our 737 Interiors Engineering organization in Renton, Washington. As a Senior Manager the role includes responsibility for the strategy and vision for the team, overall functional and technical excellence of the team, including initiatives that focus on quality, people, and delivering results. This Senior Manager position includes 4 major areas: 737 Galleys along with integration of our SoCal Galley team 737 Lavatories (Current + Development) 737 Water, Oxygen, Waste, and Evacuation Systems (WOWE) 737 Electrical Subsystems & Cabin Systems The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with strong program management and systems integration expertise, comprehensive knowledge of aircraft interiors and certification processes, and a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and suppliers. This role demands a proactive and accountable leader who can effectively balance technical rigor with practical execution to deliver safe, compliant, and customer-focused seat installations on the 737 platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Manager leading engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering related role.

Nice To Haves

  • Domain knowledge of Interiors, Payload Systems, and/or Electrical Systems.
  • Experience with the 737 airplane program.
  • Experience working with suppliers on technically demanding projects.
  • Experience working across the value stream including design, supplier production, airplane production, and fleet support.
  • Strong understanding of Interiors and electrical/electronics certification processes and requirements.
  • Proficient in solving complex problems and managing ambiguity in dynamic program schedules.
  • Proactive risk identification and mitigation using program management best practices.
  • Creative and innovative thinker, developing solutions that meet customer and Boeing needs.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong skills in building trust and collaboration with teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering as well as Electrical Engineering.
  • Keep safety and quality at the forefront of all activities.
  • Utilizes broad Interiors domain knowledge and experience to solve complex problems, and is able to deal with ambiguity including dynamic program schedules.
  • Applies creativity & innovative thinking to develop solutions that meet customer & Boeing needs.
  • Proactively identifies and mitigates risk early – leverage program management best practices.
  • Skilled in advising and influencing managers or non-management employees to meet schedules, manage overall performance, and resolve technical or operational problems.
  • Develops and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
  • Participates in establishing and administering multiple projects.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
